ZIPPP... The time machine zipped through time. Tina and I walk along the sand, admiring all the Egyptians that walked past. Along the way, we met some important pharaohs and people who had impacted ancient Egypt. I decided to ask them some important questions. My first interview was with the ghost King Tutankhamen in 1324 B.C.:
Me "Hi King Tutankhamen. Nice to meet you"
King Tut "Nice to meet you too. Lets get started."
Me "Great. I'm going to start with some basic questions. Question #1- What are you known for and what are your achievements?"
King Tut "Great question. I am known from ruling Egypt during the 18th dynasty for 10 years when I took over from my father that died in 1360 B.C.. My father changed the religion when everyone was against it. So, since I was so young I took advice from priests and officials to help me rule. I changed everything back according to the priests and I restored the worship of many deities. That is one of my major achievements and what I am known for."
Me "Question #2- What important decisions did you make and how did you impact the empire?"

When my father died, I was forever known as the Pharaoh of Egypt for nine years, only starting a the age of ten. I died at the Age of nineteen, for an unknown reason. Many scientists think i died because of my legs injury that is on my mummy, possibly from falling of a chariot. As for my personal life, I married my half sister, Ankhesenamun, who was also the daughter of Ikhanaton and Nefertiti"

ZOOPPPP.... To 1457 B.C. to meet up with Hatshepsut:
Me "Hi Hatshepsut. Nice to meet you, lets get started: Question #1- What are your achievements and what are you known for?
Hatsheput "I am simply known for ruling Egypt after Thutmose II death. Thutmose III was way too young to be ruling Egypt, so I stepped up and was his regent. I customized my body to react, look, and act like a king, I even dressed as a male and wore a beard!"
Me " Cool! Next question: #2- What are some of the mysteries of your life and your reign?"
Hatshepsut "Well, I died last year, and no one really knows exactly were I died, so- "
Me "Sorry to interrupt, But since 2007, some scientists didn't know indeed, but sometime in 2007, I think on June 27, some scientists found your mummy, "
Hatshepsut "Oh, that is so cool! Well, anyway, that is, ...or was the major mystery of my life,"
Me "Question 3- what were your important decisions and what impact did you have on your empire?"
Hatshepsut " An important decision I made was that after my half brother, who I married, Thutmose II, died, I was only a widow before the age of thirty. I had no sons, only one daughter, and the male heir was only an infant, so I decided to be the regent for Thutmose III, who was going to get . That was a major decision I had to make, that is to be his regent an too step up and be queen. But to make sure everyone knew that I could rule, I depicted myself as a male, adding a fake beard and a male body and much more make-up!"
Me "Cool! It was very nice to meet you, thank you!"

Egypt's rulers made Egypt rich and made strong decisions for Egypt. In the book Pharaoh- Life and Afterlife of a God, it states on page 47 about Ramses the great "He strides as largely as any of his colossal statues across the landscape of Egypt's history. But we see Ramses' Egypt as if through a sandstorm, with many tantalizing details obscured by time. Nevertheless, he was and will always remain Ramses the Great." This proves that like Ramses, Pharaohs of Egypt really made Egypt unique and the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt "strides as largely as his colossal statues.

Egypt's Government |
Uniting Egypt |
Ancient Egypt was governed by a pharaoh. The pharaoh had all the power and ruled to kingdom. He who is the pharaoh was trusted to be the son of god. This type of government was called a theocracy. A theocracy is a type of government ruled under a priest in the name of God. Religion and politics were connected. They were connected because the ruler of ancient Egypt was a pharaoh and the pharaoh was believed to have been related to god. So then all the Egyptians would bow down to the pharaoh.

In 3000 B.C., Egypt was united from Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt into one kingdom to form the beginning of a large civilization. It is believed that Menes, who was the first Egyptian king of the first dynasty, united Upper and lower Egypt. Therefore, he was the founder of the unified kingdom. Upper Egypt was in the south portion of Egypt, were the base of the mountains were, and Lower Egypt was in the north part of Egypt, were the mouth of the Nile was. So, Upper Egypt was in the South and Lower Egypt was in the northern part of Egypt.
About 3300 B.C., King Menes ruled Upper Egypt. Menes conquered Lower Egypt and united the two kingdoms. Menes made the capital of the new kingdom Memphis. I think If Menes was not king than this would not have happened because he was a very strong leader. He did what he thought was best for Egypt and he succeed with all that he did. |
Trade, Business, and Conflict |
Hatsheput and Women Rulers |
Egyptian rulers affected trade, business, and conflict. Pharaohs impacted trade by enabling trade routes. Amenhotep III did just that and used the Nile river for transportation to send ships to other communities and establishments. In the PBS article, titled "The Pharaoh" it says "In his throne room, the merchants bow humbly to the ground before him. They want to trade wood and spices in his kingdom. They offer him gifts of gold and ostrich eggs. He waves to a servant to take the gifts, and welcomes them." This proves that .Pharaohs also impacted business by

Hatshepsut was an obvious a great leader and role model for women of all ages. But not only is Hatshepsut herself a great role model, but there are many other woman leaders that have done significant things for there countries. Have you every heard of Catherine the great? She was the empress of Russia in 1762. She died in 1796. Catherine the great and Hatshepsut's way to success were quite different thought. As you may know, Hatshepsut took the leadership from Thutmose II and took the characteristics of a male because Thutmose III was too young to become Pharaoh. Catherine the great got her power after she married into the royal family of Russia and became the grand duchess of Russia. In Catherine's reign, she expanded Russia. BBC News states "During her reign she extended the Russian empire southwards and westwards, adding territories which included the Crimea, Belarus and Lithuania. Agreements with Prussia and Austria led to three partitions of Poland, in 1772, 1793, and 1795, extending Russia's borders well into central Europe." Hatshepsut similarly

Advantages and Disadvantages of Power
Power has its advantages, but also
its disadvantages. Some advantages are that you get to do anything you want and
“boss” people around or conduct orders. Also, you can change things about your
land and its laws and rules such as what Amenhotep IV did when he changed Egypt’s
whole religion upside down to bow to him. You also get to choose punishments.
Also you get to pick government officials and how the social pyramid works.
Although there are advantages, there are disadvantages. Some disadvantages are
that there is stress about having power because if someone with power makes a
wrong decision one time, it effects the whole land because wars could start. Also, since you have this pressure, you have to make sure everyone else
likes you, so you have to act “perfect”.
If you’re not, then people may not like you and start turning your back
on you. Also, like I mentioned in the advantages, you can change rules. This is
also a disadvantage because when you
have all the power and freedom to change rules, you may go too far and change
everything about your land which would affect it in later times. Those are the
advantages and disadvantages of power.
